Information, Rules and Regulations
Virtual Railroad System: Virtual Railroad Systems combines several areas of virtual railroading. Bison Rail, (BRS) operates routes and trains in the midwest region of USA. Great Lakes and Allegheny, (GLA) uses payware routes and trains for the more elite virtual railroaders. Southern Cross Rail System, (SCRS) is in Australia and uses the routes and trains from Australia. Virtual Railroad System also has a narrow gaug route in western USA called Sumpter Valley. VRS always try to keep around what the engineer wants or wants to see new, so we have featured routes that changes monthly for something new and different. There is a training program available for newcomers to Microsoft Train Simulator that will help guide you to become accomplished user of routes, trains and utilities of MASTS. There is a Work Order Writer's Academy that focuses in teaching you how to use the activity editor with a personal guide, to guide you all the through the certification course. We welcome all who loves the hobby of railroading here at Virtual Railroad System. Rules and Regulations: All the routes, rolling stock and activities used at VRS are also available free of any charge, on our and/or other websites. The requirements to join are really simple and anyone can become a member of Virtual Rail System. Virtual Rail System uses a powerful program called TSS. The Time Slip System (TSS) is for applications, logging your hours, downloads, stats of every kind, engineer callboard, certificates, bonus pay, warnings for deactivation, and much more. It will display on the download pages the entire roster, information on equipment, and most important displays the credits to people who worked on the equipment. a) Have fun in whatever you do at VRS. b) This is an international community with members all over the world, so, any religion, political or racist remarks, even on the signatures, avatars or other pictures, are completely forbidden. This rule is in effect in all divisions and departments of BRS, including our forums. Any infraction to this rule is subject to disciplinary actions. c) You must be an active member. This means you are required to run at least 2 Work Orders per month. We all know that real world and changes in life sometimes don’t allow us to do what we plan. So, if you know that you will not be able to comply with your tasks, you must contact HR and inform about the situation change. If you belong to Bison Rail System and Great Lakes & Allegheny a combination of 3 Work Orders combined to stay active in all the Virtual Railroads here. d) Every 3 months you may receive a special activity to run, not longer than 40minutes. This special activity also counts toward your 2 per month requirement, and you must run it and report it before your next free run. e) There is no limit to the number of activities you can run per month. f) There is no limit to the number of times you can run an activity. Although is expected for you to try all the available activities, you can run your favorite activity more than one time. g) Nevertheless, you are free to work for other VAR’s, if you keep your 2 activities per month commitment with Virtual Railroad System. h) Virtual Railroad System's engineers are free to work for other VAR’s as time permits. However, you will not be permitted to record work performed on other VAR’s here. When you work here you get to log your hours here. When you work elsewhere you should log your hours there. Each VAR has its’ own record keeping. Application Process: There are a few steps to be taken before you may become an engineer. a) All engineers are welcome. b) All extra railroad job openings are announced at our website on the HR page.
